Lucky Lottery Karaoke Contest
Contest Rules and Regulations
Karaoke starts at 8pm, contest
begins at 9pm. If you want a warm-up song before the contest I suggest that
you show up extremely early. It will be impossible for everyone to get a
warm-up especially the first few weeks. I will try to be there and have the
show running around 7:30pm. Also keep in mind, a lot of times during these
contests when there are so many people in the room, regular karaoke singers
love to sing in front of these audiences. They will be in rotation as well
before and after the contest but not during.
INVITATION ROUNDS- begins
promptly at 9pm, if a contestant fails to appear by the start of the contest,
they will be automatically eliminated and an alternative will be allowed to
take their place.
1. Twenty contestants will perform one (1) song each on June 17, 2010;
16 will be invited back.
2. Sixteen contestants will perform one (1) song each on June 24, 2010;
12 will be invited back.
3. Twelve contestants will perform two (2) songs each on July 1, 2010;
10 will be invited back.
4. Ten contestants will perform two (2) songs each on July 8, 2010;
8 will be invited back.
5. Eight contestants will perform two (2) songs each on July 15, 2010;
7 will be invited back. It's also Steve's Birthday...
6. Seven contestants will perform two (2) songs each on July 22, 2010;
6 will be invited back.
5. Final contestants will perform three (3) songs each on July 29, 2010.......
Contestants will NOT
be allowed to sing the same song twice during the INVITATION ROUNDS. Once a
song is used, that contestant cannot sing it again.
In the event of TIES
during ANY contest, there will be a sing-off that night.
During the INVITATION
ROUNDS beginning June 17th through July 29th, contestants must be present
EVERY week. If any contestant fails to show, anyone who was eliminated the
previous week and is present that evening will be entered back into the
contest.
V.I.P. cards can be used
to save a contestant from elimination. This is how it works:
If Fred and Mary both
get eliminated, they can cash in their card and if Fred has the most hole
punches he will be allowed back in the contest the following week and
will be saved from elimination that week. HOWEVER, the following week instead
of 2 contestants being eliminated 3 will be. Mary who didn't have enough
punches to get saved, can still show up because if Tommy who has not been
eliminated does not show up, she will be allowed back into the contest.
Once a contestant is a no-show they are automatically eliminated and will not
be allowed back in the contest even if they have a V.I.P. card!
I cannot stress
upon you how important the V.I.P. cards can be! Everybody has a bad night and
with strategy playing a big roll in this contest, a bad song choice could
cause even the best singer to be eliminated. V.I.P. cards are used on
Wednesday nights, and you can get them from me. For every $5 you spend, you
get your card punched. Here's another beauty to the V.I.P. card, Say you get
eliminated in the first week, and cash in your V.I.P. card successfully, you
can get another V.I.P. card and continue to mount up points to possibly save
you from a second elimination. So virtually if you practice a lot on
Wednesdays, bring your friends, let them give you the money to buy their
drinks, all those punches, can help save you not just once but numerous times
in this contest. V.I.P. cards will NOT be able to save you in the last week of
competition!!!
A special note, Times
are tough for everyone, and there's nothing better than a nice night out with
friends family or loved ones. This contest was designed to be entertaining,
exciting, challenging, and loads of fun. There will be twists and special
challenges, during this contest but you will always be able to choose your own
songs! Never before has anyone given away an entire roll of lottery tickets,
so with a prize that unique I felt that a unique contest should go with it. I
look forward to hearing all of your performances as I think the world of your
talents. If you have any questions, feel free to email me or call (352)
804-4056 and I will help in any way I can to make this contest better for you.
You will be judged by
vocal performance primarily, even though your ability to look at your audience
and not the screen as well as entertain will play a factor too. If
you change the words to a song that will be acceptable, if you don't sing the
song like the original artist that is acceptable also. I don't know if the
judges will like that but it is allowed.
Words of advice: Song
choice is EVERYTHING. As there are so many good singers in this contest so
far, one sour note could cause you to be eliminated. This contest will
not be judged by how high or low you can sing or the style of music you sing,
but by how well you sing the song. There will be no prejudice between country
singers or rock singers, new or old, as well as R&B. Foul language will
NOT be tolerated in the contest. Should you pick a song that has explicit
language you must change the lyrics as mentioned above, or you will be
eliminated.
